My wife and I listen to these together on car trips, and we both love everything* about the books. We love the story, the characters, the narration, the word play (although occasionally we need to pause to look up a word or phrase), and the settings.
*OK, almost everything. I don't love the death, violence and blood. I understand that the story takes place during the Revolutionary war in an untamed countryside. And I get that the needs of the plot causes character deaths and the fact that Claire is a doctor necessitates descriptions of bloody medical procedures. But, they can be a bit much.
I also have a small concern regarding Diana Gabaldon's and Davina Porter's ages. I would hate to not get to the end of this saga with them.
