I think this book accurately and painfully reflects the part of human nature most of us make an effort to ignore. Our truly, disgusting, selfish desire, and the surface level comfort of a civilized society we cling to even if it means leaving behind humanity. The ending of this book ruined me. It felt like betrayal, it felt raw and visceral and loving in a twisted way. Absolutely a five star read.
