The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
5.0
" 'It has been peaceful here,' she said 'but my blood is the sea, and it cannot be still.' "
Holy wow. I don't even have words right now. Let the fact that I took a month and half to finish this be not an indicator of how long it is, but of how gloriously challenging it is to digest this story. In 800 pages, I have become rendered by Ms. Shannon. It makes me infinitely happy that YA fantasy still retains its awe in the hands of writers such as her. Thank you.
The multiple story lines interlined beautifully
"Ten years of separation. (...) But she knew how to ache for something far away.
She knew how to endure."
