Cries Unheard: Why Children Kill: The Story of Mary Bell by Gitta Sereny
4.0
When people use the term 'a lot to unpack', this book should be held up as one of the finest examples of doing so. Intricately and elegantly, with compassion, Sereny pursues honesty and truth. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that Cries Unheard gets to the heart of things, because the truth is not a purely clinical concept and cannot be divorced from our humanity.
