Skin Folk
by Nalo Hopkinson
A collection that pulls from several different genres: romance, folktale, horror, sci-fi, fantasy
Themes: gender politics, generational gaps (grandmother/father to granddaughter), ancestry, food, and at times birds and their values (strength, freedom, non-conformity)
I especially loved her intro to each short story telling what inspired her and what she feels thankful for in its creation
