Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

'Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive'

I don't think a review can do this writing and story justice. This book is just so beautiful and magical and wonderful. I fell in love with Anne and the childlike joy that she experiences everything in her world with. Reading this book made me happy. The way Matthew dotes on Anne, Marilla's slowly growing love and admiration towards her, the 'bosom friendship' between herself and Diana, the PUFFED SLEEVES! I got lost and enraptured in this book and will recommend it to anyone that wants to feel what it is like to be a child again.

Another of my favourite lines:

''Dear old world,', she murmured, 'you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you'.'
