One thing I wish I had known before reading this book is that it’s basically *nothing* like the movie, and at first I was irritated, but as this book stretched on and ON I realized that making a movie out of this book would have been a SNOOZE. I can tell why it’s a classic, but I won’t be reading it again, at least, not any time soon. The beginning of the book is SO good, but all of these other plots get packed in there as if the author needed to fill up space. Does this make me a heathen? Oh well. Read it and find out for yourself.
