Girls to the Front: The True Story of the Riot Grrrl Revolution by Sara Marcus

emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring reflective sad medium-paced

Very interesting look at the women’s punk/riot grrrrl movement of the 90s. It’s very wild how history keeps repeating itself!!! Definitely thought some of the critiques of the movement at the time came across as unorganized but I suppose that’s in line with the decentralization of the movement itself. Also thought it was weird that the author randomly discredits Fiona Apple and Alanis Morrisette as angry women of the machine!!! But I digress. Overall very good.
