The Good Luck Girls by Charlotte Nicole Davis

3.0

I did not realize The Good Luck Girls was a YA book. Had I known that ahead of time, I may not have picked it up. I tend to have a mixed or lukewarm experience with YA novels these days. I think it has something to do with the writing, but it’s not really for me to critique since I am no longer the target audience. The concept for this book is certainly an interesting one. To my experience, there aren’t many dystopian books depicted in a “wild west” pseudo world. For that reason, the story reminded me of the West World reboot. I do think this book could have an aesthetically fun and interesting adaptation for a teen audience. I certainly would have a more enjoyable experience consuming the story in that way. Also, I just realized there is a sequel for this book which makes a ton of sense based on how this book ends.
