Dear John by Nicholas Sparks

3.0

It started out strong but became tired quickly with how John is completely unlikeable. I spent the entire book thinking about how Savannah can do so much better, and while she has flaws of her own she's at least a good person. John...well, if I didn't know who the author was it would be very clear that John was created by a straight man. He's a jerk who has no concept of feelings, and obvious anger management issues. How Savannah feels safe with him is beyond me. The whole book feels very white saviour wrapped up in a bow to disguise it as romantic.
