Batman: Battle for the Cowl by Tony S. Daniel

3.0

The first time I read this book, I thought it was fantastic; it became one of my favorite Batman books and Tony S. Daniel went up a little higher on my favorite comic writers and artists.

After reading it this time, though, I found that it lacked whatever it was that made me see it that way. It was way shorter than I remember (only three issues), which is probably what hurts it most. I think a story like this should be about five issues long.

It also felt very unresolved and messy. We didn't find out what happens with Two-Face, Penguin, and Black Mask.

It wasn't a bad story, but it definitely needed to be longer. I would give it two and a half stars out of five.

The art was just as amazing as I remembered it being; Tony Daniel is a killer artist (and a really nice guy. I met him at Comic-Con last year).
