This book is everything. The plot is magnificently written, with themes of cultural dances and dreams of gods. The atmosphere during the ritual dances easily captured my interest. The world-building is beautifully described, making it unnecessary to elaborate further. Considering the book is under 400 pages, it’s immaculately packed, and I truly felt the author's thoroughness in her words. The romance was what I enjoyed the most. The love and hate that grow from bitter memories showed how the characters slowly understand each other and heal their hearts. It was heart-wrenching to imagine their struggles, but love wins in the end.
This was the first book by Tasha Suri that I have read, and I liked it very much. It’s not overly emotional but still leaves a lasting impression. As a standalone, this is a perfect choice to read.
