The idea of a perfect girl and a troubled boy who aren’t allowed to be together is a pretty overused and cliché theme in books, so it wasn’t anything groundbreaking. However, I really enjoyed Alex’s chapters, as in my opinion the author did an excellent job capturing his Hispanic, gangbanger traits. She developed his character really well. The book was mostly fun and entertaining, which made the drama towards the end feel a bit out of place though. All in all, Alex and Paco pretty much carried the entire book.
