I had no idea what was going on the entire time. I went into it thinking it was a simple enough whodunit story but the non-linearity and abstract themes really made it less clear cut than it could be. There were too many characters and they were pretty much all interlinked in some way or another as well, so that added to the confusion.
I think the author attempted to make “love trumps all” the moral of the story (in terms of Liam being faithful to Cory in every way except legally) but the fact that he had 3 other wives gave me the ick, no matter all his positives the author tried to play up.
