The Sentence is Death by Anthony Horowitz

mysterious medium-paced
I keep reading these but they aren't as enjoyable for me as Horowitz's Susan Ryland series. Still, they're easy reads to break up some heavier books. Hawthorne is awful. He's very openly homophobic and possibly racist. While Horowitz is quick to denounce what he says, it perpetually rubs me the wrong way. That being said, I'll likely continue reading the series anyway because I enjoy the Sherlock & Dr. Watson parallels.
