This is book two of a duet and needs to be read in order!

I was so excited to see that a 2nd book for this series was coming! I absolutely loved the first one and it wrapped up so well that a follow-up was not on my radar at all! Returning to Ella, Sebastian, and Death was another wild ride.

Similar to book #1, this is a romantic suspense, but I'd say even more focus on the suspense than the first probably. Once again, the three POVs was used well to keep the reader guessing on where everything was going and what connected. I really enjoy this author's writing as her stories pull me in and the characters keep me hooked. The tension and creepiness of certain moments gave me moments of feeling like I was reading a thriller novel.

Death is just as wild and unhinged as in the first and once again, his and Ella's unhinged moments together were probably my favorite!
I also really loved that we got to have Sebastian and Death interact this time. It was neat to see that dynamic unfold for them both.

The author's note at the end does indicate that while this duet is wrapped up, the storyline around the mystery of certain new character (avoiding spoilers) will continue in the series. That said, there were a few things left hanging that I wish had been wrapped up a bit more because it felt odd that the main two characters new more than I at the end (especially since it's written in first POV).

Still, a solid read that kept me turning pages and I definitely recommend this duet to all dark romantic, suspense fans!

Thank you to the author, Grey's Promotion, and TheAuthorAgency for the e-ARC. Review is my honest opinion.
