Breaking Free: How I Escaped Polygamy, the FLDS Cult, and My Father, Warren Jeffs by Rachel Jeffs

challenging dark emotional informative inspiring fast-paced

4.75

I loved this book. I started watching TLC’s Sister Wives and wanted another perspective on polygamy. This was a challenging read, but Rachel’s story is one of triumph. Since I mainly rate books on the overall feelings I had while reading, this story was quite interesting in my eyes. The only qualm I found was the book’s ending felt extremely rushed. I was excited to learn more about Rachel’s current life, but she barely addressed her life after leaving polygamy. I found the book's ending a little lackluster compared to the fast-paced beginning and middle.
