Tired as F*ck: Burnout at the Hands of Diet, Self-Help, and Hustle Culture by Caroline Dooner

reflective slow-paced

3.0

I expected this to be a self help book, but it was really more of an anti-self help book.  I guess you could call it a memoir, but it was really a listing of all the fad diets she went on and spent way too long talking about.  Maybe it would have been worth my time if there was some sort of grand realization in the end, but it really just kind of ended with "figure out what's best for you and do it."

I also didn't appreciate her referring to Catholicism as a cult.  She went into great detail at the beginning of the book with her definition of a cult (so that she could compare all her diets to that) and Catholicism didn't even meet her definition, so I'm not sure why she threw that accusation out there.

I do plan to read "The F*ck it Diet" book.  Maybe that will actually offer some insights.
