She Walks These Hills by Sharyn McCrumb

4.0

I really enjoyed this suspense novel set in Appalachia. It follows several characters that are all connected in someway, either to the past or present, of an escaped convict, Harm Sorley. We also get Harm’s perspective as he walks the hills in search of love ones from his past. I got to feel like I got to know these characters, and even though there is a mystery at the center of the novel, it’s really about them. My only criticism of the book is that I felt there was a bit too much detail at times that wasn’t really necessary. Otherwise, a really enjoyable read.
