Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes: A No-Bullshit Guide to World Mythology by Cory O'Brien
5.0
Okay. So. People tend to either hate or love this one, from reviews I've read elsewhere.
If you hate it, it probably wasn't for you.
I see a lot of reviews from "serious mythological/religious scholars" that are way negative.
As a mythological/religious scholar... that's nonsense. Before myths were written down and codified in any manner, they were an oral tradition, told, retold, reshaped, etc. These were not bone-dry retellings of the same tales, over and over. They changed and grew, were adapted for each generation.
O'Brien has simply done the same for his fellow Millennials. And it's WILD and hilarious. Do check it out.
