A History of Wild Places by Shea Ernshaw

3.5 stars.

It was “okay”… very much left me feeling like “this could have been an email, not a 15 hour book.”

The genre was very hard to locate - is it fantasy? Is it a mystery? Is it a romance???

I was automatically a little wary because it had about 4 or 5 narrators with multiple storylines going on at the same time and that is not my personal favorite.
Also, the main character reading actor was NOT great, in my humble opinion. Everyone else was really clear and speaking at normal levels but when Calla’s reader came on, I always had to slow it down and turn up the volume because it felt rushed and whispered.
Not really the books fault but a poor choice in casting.

I kept waiting for a twist that, once it finally did come, I had already guessed most of it and I didn’t really care at that point. I was kind of confused but also bored.
