……..Soooo is there gonna be a 3rd book? Or no? IS THERE A THIRD BOOK?! Because I neeeeeeeed to know!
This book goes deeper into fire nation politics. Like the intricacies of the clans, the top-knot, and THE LEGACY TEA! Plus you get to see the groundwork for the world of ATLA as well. Like the transition of power between avatars in a traditional cycle and how the nations uphold their ideals and incorporate into their culture.
But also I think the best part of both these is that you get to see a world where the Air Nomads were a thriving people and they were seemlessly integrated into the world. Like the fact that Aang was the only airbender and the avatar made it easy to conflate the two but these books gives a really good look at how the Air Nomads operated insuring a time before conflict and how they interacted with the world and what the world expected from them and vice versa.
Plus all the love which is super cute but I’m not gonna spoil for anyone who hasn’t read
