Good for You by Camille Pagán

Note: Grab the chocolate and tissue if you, like me, decided to read this while having PMS!

It was time for me to take a break from psychological thrillers and enjoy a nice heart filled story. This book absolutely made my heart filled.

Main character Aly is living what she thinks is her best life in New York until an unfortunate incident/encounter occurs. One she cannot recall but has been made public on social media. As a result, Aly is asked to take a leave from her high end job. Not having a lot of money in savings, she breaks up with her boyfriend and heads to Michigan where her brother has left her his home.

Aly is not particularly looking forward to going to her brothers (now her) home. She was very close to her brother Luke before his passing and misses him very much.

Upon arrival, she is surprised to see her brother's best friend Wyatt in the home. She is shocked to learn the house he left to both her and Wyatt. They are forced to be "roommates" while Aly is visiting and the story takes off full on from here.

The writing really let me get to know the characters. I could feel the emotion each one had. I loved the fact I got to know Luke even though he was no longer with them. I loved the banter, the connection and the raw emotion Aly and Wyatt had. (and I am so glad Wyatt really wasn't such a messy slob, talk about a first impression to make someone with OCD cringe! lol)

The end had me in tears. Such a good book. It's a nice quick easy happy, yet sad, read. Would have loved to see an epilogue though.
Highly recommend!

TW: Book touches on child abuse and PTSD.
