A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas
3.5

Originally going in knowing this was a Nesta book, I was both excited but also a little unsure on whether or not I was going to be able to make it through, especially it being a little over 700 pages. I wasn't too big of a fan of Nesta in the series, though there were few times I understood why she acted the way she did, but overall was not a fan of her.

I didn't like Nesta for a good chunk of the book but I also was starting to not be a fan of the other characters due to how harsh they were treating her (hypocrite, I know). To be able to see and have Nesta expose the real dark parts of her that ate at her constantly, I started to become a fan and feel bad for her. I get that it wasn't entirely her fault for acting the way she did, but there are limitations and lines that she definitely crossed.

One thing I truly loved about this book was how she was able to confide and find those who were just as broken as she was and was able to soften up for others, something we hadn't seen her do except towards Elaine. To see Nesta so vulnerable and open to others (not Cassian since they were having their spicy times and I have my own thoughts about that [hint hint, I was not a fan of the spicy time at times since it felt as if he was just using her like she had been doing all along before the intervention]), it was relieving to know she wasn't always mean to everyone despite what she knew about them.
