Honestly, if I hadn't watched the show before reading the book, I highly doubt I would've read the book. It's so far out of my normal genre that it wouldn't have peaked my interest in the slightest. The show does follow the book pretty accurately, and I did learn a few things that were not included in the show. And it was a good reminder of everything that happened in the first season. I think Tyrion is still one of my favorite characters as he was able to make me laugh in the book as well as in the show.
