This was such a cute story! I love Toadling, she’s so cute and I felt really sad for the unfairness in her life. I liked Halim too, I was expecting him to be the knight full of bravado and greed, and I was pleasantly surprised by the kind of person he was.

This was a clever and interesting fairytale retelling and I loved the found family aspect, as well as the idea that not all curses are worth breaking. It was an excellent and quick short novel with an engaging storyline. I would read a whole novel of this story if it would get me more time with Toadling!
