part two of the promise duet!

now this one was one for the books. this book comes back nina and mason have their sweet baby. a lot has happened since the birth and mason and nina are not really on speaking terms. it broke my heart to see them not speaking to each other, and when they did there was so much tension and hurt that was between them. it's one thing that really hurt my heart when reading this book. this is one of the most angsty books that ive ever read. i have such a love/hate relationship with this one. it took me a while to recover from this. i just wanted them to be together, but i also wanted them both to grow from all of this. there has been major heartbreak on both ends and its not something that you can just have a changed perspective from the next day. i will say that i did love seeing mason's more intentional caring side more in this book verses the last book i really had a harder time with him and his actions. this one you could see how badly he just wanted his family together and he wanted things to be easier for nina. i loved the little things/moments that he had with ellis. like all the heart eyes cute. in the end i am so happy with how things ended. i may still be emotionally impacted, but i am thankful for they got their HEA. i cannot wait to see more of them in the rest of The Grand Men series!
