Oof. Where to start? Raisa's near constant agonizing over boys that she knows she can't be in relationships with is boring and tedious to read. I did not sign up for a teen romance book - this is supposed to be a fantasy adventure novel but literally half of this book reminds me of a bad Twilight fanfic (or, you know, just the og Twilight series). I only finished it because Han, although he has his occasional romantic detours, generally gave me what I wanted: magic and intrigue, murderous plots for revenge and just overall interesting things actually happened with him. With Raisa, it was "oh I'm working on this *insert vague classwork description* but I can't take my mind off of Micah/Amon/Han and their kisses!".

I'm hoping number three will be better.
