The Lady's Guide to Celestial Mechanics by Olivia Waite

4.0

I can't believe I didn't rate this when I first read it; I'm also surprised it was just last year that I did read it. (It came out in 2019 -- I didn't first read it then?!)

So much sadder on reread; I felt quite teary during a good deal of the reread. Maybe current politics has me especially angry and bitter about treatment of clever people who aren't cishet white men.

I've started sewing and dreaming about doing hand embroidery on some of my pieces, so Catherine's work in this book made me wish it was real.

I liked so much the delicate handling of historical reality (ie can't be openly out and all that) with romance novel escapism wish fulfillment.

And finally: this cover is so lovely, why o why is the cover for the 2nd book so awful?

2020 Review

Sweet, charming, sexy!
