This book is a modern day take on Agatha Christie’s famous And Then There Were None. The plot moved along at a good clip driven by the actions of interesting characters. However, in the end the book fell short for me by the vagueness of the ending.
*** MILD SPOILERS ***
Who gave the killer the device that made the Carbon Dioxide release? Why would they just “give it” to the killer? Did they know what the killer was going to use it for? How did the hiring out of the one murder work - did the killer just look up Killers For Hire on yellowpages.com? What about that other murder that the killer had “inside information on” - that person was under police protection. So, where did this inside information come from - the police? If so, why would that person kelp the killer? Etc.
