Daughter of the Burning City
by Amanda Foody
I enjoyed this book. The mystery element was very intriguing, and that's what kept me reading. However, I wasn't super invested in a lot of the characters, and I found the idea of Gomorrah really interesting at first, but then it just felt a bit old and how are you supposed to root for the carnival of evil? The whole thing is based on being sinful and tricking people out of their money, and there were no good points to help me want to root for the carnival. I considered giving up this book so many times, and only kept reading for the mystery of the murders.
