I started this book because it was supposed to be better than fourth wing. My expectations where soo incredibly high.. I should’ve known better than to start a book where my expectations are so high.

Roman Kitt and Iris Winnow are those star crossed lovers in an epic war of gods who turn from enemies to lovers. It is set in a World War II kinda time. They both start out as writers for a newspaper

and discover that their typewriters are somehow magically connected. They write letters to each other and Iris doesn’t find out until very late that she is writing with Roman.

Iris eventually quits her job to find her brother who is lost in the war and she starts working as a war correspondent.

Roman C. Kitt is the ultimate book boyfriend.

He travels 600km to the war front, quits his job, calls of an arranged engagement to be with her.

The characters are loveable, but for some reason I didn’t connect to them the way I would’ve loved to. I feel like with 200 more pages this book could’ve done better. So much has happened in those short amount of pages that it felt kinda rushed..

I am excited what the next book will bring because I still have high hopes. I think the story itself is very cool. Wyvern, Gods, Magical typewriter..
Hopefully it’ll be like acotar where the first book is just to get you into it and the next one blows me off my chair.
