DNF at 23% - I tried several times but I’d read a chapter and get so bored that I’d rather go wash dishes or do a load of laundry. Maybe a connection would have formed between the two mains, but I sure didn’t feel it or see how. I was also driven almost to insanity by the pop culture references. It was set in 2005 and it felt like every other line the author was trying to remind you of that by throwing out some product placement (the Motorola Razr or Neutrogena face wash or MySpace or the 40 Year Old Virgin). One character is a publicist, the other a celeb, so I get why some things were mentioned but it felt excessive and quickly grated on my nerves.
