The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan

5.0

I broke down reading this book, I already knew what was going to happen, but I cried anyways. It’s amazing how uncle Rick can have me crying like crazy and making me laugh in the next paragraph. Apollo’s character growth is so real, he has been growing like a human and it’s just incredible to see how he has been developing so much empathy towards others but he has also been discovering more of his own weaknesses.
I cried two times reading this book, and I usually don’t cry. First I cried when Apollo and Jason were talking in Jason’s room, he knew that he (or Piper) was going to die and he accepted that. When he told Apollo to remember what it’s like to be a human, I started crying hysterically. And I ended up crying in the last chapters as well (I didn’t cry when Jason died because I prepared myself a lot for that moment and was already expecting it), but when they met Leo at the end, I cried even more than the first time.
This book made me feel so much! It truly deserves 5 stars, it was perfect
