The Spymaster's Lady
by Joanna Bourne
God this book was so fucking good. I was bellyaching to myself on Twitter that I have trouble with historical romance and you know what? I figured it out. My real problem is that I don’t like historical romances where the heroines don’t have jobs. I prefer when they’re plucky working class gals or brilliant spies, like Annique of this book.
So yes. I’m tired. I can’t articulate how much I enjoyed this story so hopefully “book good!” will suffice. I made so many highlights in my Kindle edition bc this book was full of shit that made me laugh out loud or go “damn, writing like this is why I read romance”.
God I’m tired. I always say I’ll update a review after I get some rest but hopefully I get around to it tomorrow morning because I have more to say. I legit cannot keep my eyes open.
