The Seas by Samantha Hunt

2.0

What a peculiar book, and not in a positive way, despite my appreciation for uniqueness. The initial half was incredibly engaging and left a lasting impression, resembling a cinematic experience with its dreamy, cozy, haunting, and tragic elements. It was reminiscent of an A24 film, where each page felt like a still from a captivating scene. However, everything took a downturn after the chapter titled "Dangerose". At that point, my interest was gone, similar to the disappointment of lights abruptly turning on in a movie theater, shattering the illusion and dispelling the magic.

I would have given it a lower rating if not for its merits which far outweigh the elements I didn't particularly enjoy. It's a relatively short read, and if you've already read it or are planning to, I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on it.
