The description in words of how I felt while ready the book is tense. But it mostly felt like tension for Jamie, that you just want some resolve for him. He is put into these situations that other people put him in and you
feel that he's a good kid.
Pacing was really fast for me and I felt like nice evenly spaced chunks; early development, save the world from evil, evil tries to take its revenge. Being a shorter novel,
there wasn't much time for dragged out details. We still had the character development, however. Because its shorter I would put this at a mix of plot and character driven. We learn
enough about Jamie to see how he grows with his ability and as a person. We also
experience what is happen to him through those experiences. I think that if Jamie had had different characteristics, it wouldn't have been the same story. The characters were great between Jamie,
the Mom, and Liz, you can imagine and/or identify with them. Mom, You can imagine that she just wants what's best for her family and if people think Jamie's crazy the he won't
have a normal life. She goes and does everything she can even risking exposing Jamie's abilities.
