Isla and the Happily Ever After
by Stephanie Perkins
This book follows Isla and her love interest Josh, who she has a crush on then apparently love for three years. needless to say she is head over heels with the guy! Their story started sweet, innocent and really funny mostly because of Isla's reaction. They started dating and such and it's sweet and well very relatable, romantic that sometimes borders on cheesy but it's okay. It irks me though that by the end Isla became whiny, pathetic and annoying then Josh became too emo. Those were the only parts I did not love but they are neccessary to the story, I guess, though Isla's self-pity could've been reined in a bit.
Now about those last few chapters. I WAS FLOORED!! EtiƩnne St. Clair's proposal to Anna!! That was beautiful. I was practically making weird noises because of it!! I love that so much!! Then when I thought it couldn't get better,Josh's graphic memoir he gave Isla, how he drew the ending, where he was waiting by Isla's window when I real life he was really there waiting for her. Then she saw him and runs out to him (Yep that cheesy part I love epicly) like in his drawings!!! Oh the heavenly feels!!
So overall the story and plot was very good. It's not at par with Anna and the French Kiss but definitely a good read (See what I did there?!
