To me Rick Riordan is one of those authors whose books I will always be interested in. Ever since first picking up the Percy Jackson books, I have loved his writing style. And as I am always on the look out for interesting stand alone books, I knew I had to read this book the moment I heard of it.

Although this book is more Sci Fi than I initially expected (mostly as I just seem to associate Riordan with Fantasy), this book is a lot of fun. It takes the original world of Jules Verne's books, and integrates them into the real world, to write a story about a new generation. Creating a fun Science fiction story with some fantastical elements.

I enjoyed this book as I have enjoyed basically anything Rick Riordan has ever written. Though surprisingly at the start I almost needed more suspension of disbelief than I have needed for his fantasy books. It took a little bit to get into, but in the end I can say I highly recommend this story to anyone who has loved Rick Riordan's other work.
