Anatomy of a Scandal
by Sarah Vaughan
A true psychological thriller, nothing as sordid as murder included, naturally. For nothing so vulgar can touch the rich and privileged boys of Oxford University in the early nineties.
But rape? While possible, it’s more likely to be a miscommunication, a case of he said/she said, or maybe she really wanted it. Didn’t she?
I got sucked in you guys. I love when an author can make me feel things, and this was a masterful stroke of writing that kept me at arm’s length before pulling me into its secret passageways. Great use of multiple POV, keeping you guessing about who is most likely to be the unreliable one here. Making me treat the protagonist with disdain and then making me love her. Really engrossing and compelling!
