A freight pilot and a doctor on a race to deliver a secret box amid chaos. The book hits the ground running, with them being rightfully wary of each other. There's snappy banter and heated glances as the brash loner Rye had his world crashed by the beautiful, evasive Brynn. The romance technically plays out over 48 hours (but felt slow burn), but SB is so good at building the chemistry and sexual tension between them. Their feelings felt believable, as they learn to understand and trust each other. The sensual touch in their romance fits really well.

Rye is great, beneath the asshole exterior is a heart of honor and gold, and he would do anything and everything to protect Brynn. Brynn felt less fleshed out at first, but I learned to appreciate her strength and determination. Lots of enjoyable twists in the suspense. Wished the epilogue was longer, though.  CW:
