Alright. I'm writing this review mere minutes before the Hutchings Book Club meeting, so I'm wrapping up my thoughts about this novel.

“It ain’t dying I’m talking about, it’s living. I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live.”

I've never read a western novel before, but this one was just such a deep novel about humanity and history. None of the characters were perfect in this, but all of them were so human.

It told such an epic journey of life, love, and loss. It was beautiful, but really sad. I don't think I cried while reading this, but I ended being just really depressed by the end. I didn't even like most of the characters, but somehow I felt so attached to them and their stories.

It was a lovely read on the wild, western frontier
