Thrown to the Wolves
by Charlie Adhara
I feel sort of bad in saying this, but I'm actually really surprised I liked this. To be perfectly honest, I never finished book 1, just did some skimming to make sense of things, and gave this series another go with book 2. And I can't say I've regretted my decision for a second.
A problem I have with alot of the main characters in MM Romances is I'm never able to see them as real people. Their personalities are hollow alot of the time, and we never really get to know them bar one or two things, one of which is usually their love for eachother. I won't sit here and say Oliver and Cooper are my favorite characters — they're not. I seemed to be more often than not pissed of at them, all because these dimwhits just can't seem to talk to eachother about anything whatsoever that matters. But them not being 1oo% perfect is what made them a little more real.
The plot of this book was pretty interesting aswell. Oliver's grandfather has passed, and iv
Oliver asks Cooper to come with him to the funeral for emotional support. The Parks don't welcome Cooper with open arms. Oliver seems to have forgotten to tell them a few details about his new boyfriend. And to make matters worse he's a dreaded BSI agent aswell. And to add to all that shits the fan pretty quickly, and bad bodies start stacking up. And with the possibility of the public discovery of the existence of werewolves, makes for a pretty nerve wracking experience. I won't spoil anything, just must say, enjoyed things quite a bit. Hope this series continues on on a upward trajectory.
P.S. Loved seeing a more vulnerable side to Park in these two books.
