We'll All Be Burnt in Our Beds Some Night by Joel Thomas Hynes

5.0

like the author himself, I grew fond of Johnny as he made his way to Jericho Beach. I was rooting for h im and when he messed up but saw he'd messed up I felt proud. By turning the pages I was helping Johnny become a better man.
I listened to a CBC Q podcast with author and thought: omg he talks like Johnny, but in fact, he's the "other guy"--the annoying neighbour.
After finishing the book last night in bed I couldn't get to sleep wondering how Johnny was doing? that's when I got up, poured myself a drink and listened to the podcast.
That guy stays with ya. doncha know. tryna forget im.
