An immersive foray into world-building and the age old story of good versus evil. Except better because it's queer normative!

While A Day of Fallen Night is a prequel to Priory of the Orange Tree, each book in the duology can be read as a stand-alone without reading the other. Of the two, I believe this to be the superior read. The characters arcs and personalities much stronger and better shaped throughout the story. The knitting together of lore, plot progression, and threads of connection across the perspectives is masterfully done.
