Wow. It actually got a LOT better. I loved, loved the world building, some characters (like the Possible Witch) were hilarious and Marla stopped doing her impersonation of Anita Blake (the "thoughest" Mary Sue in Urban Fantasy) halfway through the book, which improved her character so, so much.

I am now happy I bought books 2 and 3 too. O__O
