"They are Orpheus, she is Eurydice, and every time they turn back, she is ruined." This book was beautifully written. The language and style was both elegant and captivating, and I felt drawn into the story from the very beginning. I liked how the story was told in different time periods and how Schwab used historical events to help show the readers the passage of time. After we started to get Henry's perspective more I felt the story start to drag a little and I just wanted to get back to Addie. However after finishing through to the end of the book I do believe that was important storytelling and important for Henry's character. I just wish I'd cared about him a little more, so that it felt even more important. Overall, the story was incredible and I would recommend it!
