Grace and Logan meet as teens and become a refuge for each other. When they graduate, Logan leaves town to enlist and they promise to stay in touch. They don't speak again for 1o years. When Logan comes back to town, they eventually find out that her parents kept them apart. Unbeknownst to Logan, Grace's parents are manipulative abusers who have been controlling Grace for her entire life and now needs help.
This sweet story of second chances is a quick and easy read with drama and a full cast of characters. At times, certain details were a little implausible and the dialogue felt a little flat, but ultimately it was a good read with some sweet touches between the main characters.
