This is the second Magic Treehouse book I’ve read with my 5 & 4 year olds. They are fully entrenched and delighted by the premise of a magic treehouse and they enjoyed this adventure because it included animals. I appreciate that there are a few scientific facts learned along the way. Overall it’s not the greatest writing ever, nor super interesting, but it works for the target age range I guess. We haven’t read in order but the parts of the story we missed out on were summed up well enough that it didn’t matter. We have a few more Magic Treehouse books purchased secondhand but I’ll be happy to move on to a different series, I can’t imagine reading all forty or so editions in the series.
