I’d been hoping for more of a continuation of Joey’s story rather than so much of a retelling. I think his character really came through in Binding/Keeping, and I just don’t know that we needed to relive all of the horrific instances of abuse that were already so vividly described in the other books.
I did really enjoy the time we spent after the events of the first two books! I liked that it went into depth abouttreatment, the rest of pregnancy, and them adjusting to being parents.
Neither book had any business being as long as they were, but I still enjoyed these characters more than the other two. (Also, WHY was the epilogue from Shannon’s pov? Like I’m glad she’s thriving, but we got that in the last book. Why not let our MCs wrap up their own story? Odd choice.)
